BON COURAGE - The story behind our name

A popular phrase amongst cyclists and supporters, ‘Bon Courage’ can be translated loosely as, ‘don’t give up, draw on your inner strength; keep going in the face of adversity’.

Its what the locals shout as they line the mountain roads to watch the cycle races go past, usually fuelled by a few too many pastis in the sunshine, the mountains become alive with cheering and clapping as the peloton flys past.

But the best encouragement is saved for the stragglers, the tired cyclists who have nothing left in their legs, trying their best to avoid the broom wagon! "Bon Courage" "Allez Allez" can be heard amongst the cow bells and whistles.
